This course is generally open to students in Grades 11 and 12.

Details

This program is ideal for students passionate about working with children of all ages. Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of children’s emotional, physical, social, and cognitive development while designing and implementing age-appropriate learning activities.
 
 Key Features Include:
 – Hands-On Experience: Work directly with children in both preschool labs and classroom environments.
 – Dual Enrollment: Take college-level courses through Bay Mills Community College during the first year, guided by an RESA teacher.
 – Credential Opportunities: Earn certifications that increase employability, such as:

  1. CPR/First Aid
  2. Childhood Development Associate (CDA)
  3. Youth Development Associate (YDA)
  4. Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

Bachelor’s Degree or Higher

High School Credit

High school credit eligibility varies by district. Students should consult their guidance counselor to determine which curriculum requirements may be satisfied through this CTE course.
