Students enrolled in the clinical laboratory technology associate degree program at NMU will develop proficiency in the performance of a variety of tests as well as an understanding of the interrelationships of laboratory data and physiological processes.

This degree program constitutes one major with two concentrations:

  • Clinical Laboratory Technician 
  • Science Technician 

The Clinical Laboratory Technician develops proficiency in the performance of a variety of tests as well as an understanding of the interrelationships of laboratory data and physiological processes. This concentration is accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science, students with this concentration will be eligible for the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Medical Lab Technicians (MLT) certification.

The Science Technician students are provided with a basic foundation in clinical techniques complemented with science and math. This program prepares graduates to work in a variety of laboratory settings.
